JEE 2020 Update : IITs To Drop Class 12 Marks Criteria For Admissions This Year

Candidates who qualify engineering entrance examination JEE Main and are ranked within the top 2.5 million rank holders are eligible to appear in JEE Advanced Examination.

He tweeted, “Apart from qualifying JEE (Advanced) for admissions to IITs, eligibility was either to score a minimum score of 75 percentage points in class 12 board examinations or to rank in the top 20 percentile in their qualifying examinations.
“Due to partial cancellation of 12th class examination by several boards, the Joint Admission Board (JAF) has decided to relax the eligibility criteria for JEE (Advanced) 2020 eligible candidates this time. Eligible candidates who have passed the 12th standard examination will now be eligible for admission regardless of the marks obtained,” the minister said in a series of tweets.
The board was to issue the result on the basis of the new evaluation plan. The final result has been done on the basis of average marks secured by the students in the papers for which the examination was conducted. The board has said that students who want to improve their scores will be given a chance later.
The two-time postponed JEE Mains examination will now be held from September 1-6, while the entrance test for IITs is scheduled for September 27.
